Our customers are the best. This week, two customers have brought in the most delicious pumpkins. We have turned them into Pumpkin Lasagne, Pumpkin Risotto and Moroccan Pumpkin and Chickpea Soup. Today we also had Honey Roasted Pumpkin with Poppy Seeds. I have enjoyed it all along with our public. It’s great to be able to offer locally grown, organic pumpkin in our food. Low food miles too:).
One of these customers comes from Orbost, he’s visiting the hospital and called in especially to drop the pumpkins off. He lunched with us a week ago and really enjoyed his meal. He told us we should put our prices up. We don’t want to do that if we can help it. Many people have mentioned the same thing to us and the fact is that we have costed our products based on a much higher turnover. We will have to raise our prices in the financial new year if there is no improvement in our sales figures. So if you want things to stay the same, get your friends in here soon:).
We have also been given some locally grown limes and lemons. Remember your mum’s lemon cheesecake, Darin has made a lemon cheesecake that tastes exactly like my mum’s used to. We’ll be using the limes for the sauce for our Arincini. Darin used some limes given to us by Linda a few weeks ago, to make a lime chilli sauce for our fresh Crumbed Perch. We tried it with the Arincini we had that day and it was yummy. Our customers loved it to, so tomorrow we’ll have some with Arincini.
